Welcome to the Samii Family Web Site

Currently, the site contains a Photo Album from the life of the family of the late Abdol Hossein Ebtehaj Samii M.D., his wife Shahla, and his two children, Ahmad Ali and Golnaz.

Over time, and with the co-operation of all the Samiis the world-over, from Iran to the furthest reaches of the world, we hope to start building a real treasure for all the Samiis to enjoy.

This site has been created and is being maintained by Ahmad Ali Ebtehaj Samii.

You can contact Ahmad Ali Ebtehaj Samii by sending him an e-mail using the form via the Contact link. This form interface allows you to submit information that will be used as a method of gathering lineage and core family information so that a family tree can be constructed. Additionally, by joining the Samii Family forum from the link on the left, you can upload pictures, send group e-mail, view a family calendar, and participate in site polls. You can also join a family chat room and find contact information about other members of the Samii family. The photo album is not intended to remain just a pure family tree album. Many of us have left Iran and live abroad. A good number left many of their photographs back in Iran, and have lost these images forever. This web site will allow you to digitize your treasured moments for all time, and should you ever lose your photographs, you can retrieve them again and make duplicates for yourself. As such we encourage that you send us any pictures which you would like to preserve forever or share with other people.

In addition to the virtual album that we have created, we will be adding a second album in the form of a family tree album which will have portraits of everyone in the family (you need to provide us with as many pictures as possible for this) as well as cross-links between family members. This will allow us to start building a true family tree and will help everyone, including future generations, learn about who their ancestors were, and how we grew to be the family we are today and will become in the future.

Another idea which we are toying with will be to create e-mail accounts for every member of the family. Right now, we have a mailing list capability that you can participate in through the Samii Family Forum. But we feel that the Samii Family is so unique that each member of the family should have a yourname@thesamiis.com e-mail address. Naturally, with the large size of the family, this will require that each e-mail account carry a nominal annual charge, payable by each account holder.

We would love to get your general feedback, as well as any ideas regarding what should be added to the site and how the site can be improved.

On a personal note, I would like to add that I am proud to be a member of such an illustrious family, with such a remarkable history. Please help me make this site as large and fruitful as it can and should be. We are a great family, having contributed much to Iranian culture and history through our participation in the centuries that have passed since the time of our forefather, Hajj Sami'. Now, let us honour the family by building this treasure so that future generations can proudly hail what we have so far achieved, and so that they too can add to the treasure with their wealth and achievements.
